Our Sodom and Gomorrah Moment 2023
Every Christian knows the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. At the time wickedness was everywhere. Abraham knowing that God was going to destroy the land asked God if he would save the land for a certain number of righteous people. He negotiated with God, starting from 50 righteous people down to just 10. And because there wasn't ten righteous people in the city God destroyed everything except His chosen few. And from the few that were escorted out with clear instructions, one didn't listen and she turned into a pillar of salt.
I believe, we are potentially in a Sodom and Gomorrah moment as of the time of this writing in 2023. It seems as though we are in the very last critical moment of God looking to see if there are enough of His people in the land before He takes His hand off of the situation and allows the Revelation to fully play out. Many Christians have resolved to say things like, "I can't wait for God to return I'll just sit back and watch the evilness take over and do nothing until he comes back."
I don't think that's what God wants. Why would He want to see His people sit back and do nothing to change the trajectory of the lives He's given us? I don't see how He would want Christians to *let* the powers and principalities take over society uncontested. Because how could any Christian think that they could stand before the Lord on judgement day and enter into His gates with joy when they didn't do all they could for the great commission - to win souls for His kingdom and push back against the wickedness.
This may very well be the second time in history when God is looking to see who truly *serves* Him with their time, attention, money, gifts, talents, resources, and actions before making the decision to wipe the slate clean.
This might be one of the reasons he gave me the assignment to, "Start the Finishers. Find the Finishers." To say we *serve* the Lord doesn't just mean we read the Word, pray, fast, and attend church. The word "serve" is defined as, "to be in the service of; to be useful or of service to; to act as a servant." A servant is, "a person in the service of another who performs duties."
In this potential Sodom and Gomorrah moment those of us out there who "serve" the Lord must be in service to Him. We must be useful to Him. And we must perform the duties He set before us in the Word.
Where are the Finishers?
If there are 50 of us out there will He let the world continue? If there are 10 of us out there will He let the world continue?
What we do know with certainty is that right now God is testing every heart, mind, and soul to see who really is His people who He's going to allow to enter Heaven. And even if He's already made up His mind and we're living in the literal final days before the end, Finishers will *serve* Him to their very last breathe.
